Power of mind

Have you seen or heard about 1983 one day cricket worldcup series...?  India won that cup under the captainship of Kapil Deo. In one of the round against Zimbabwe in that cup India's score was 5 for just 17 runs. Everybody watching or listening that match was thinking that India is going to face a shameful defeat. But Kapil Deo, full of confidence entered on field as a no. 7 batsmen. He started playing in such a way that nothing has happened. Within few minutes he turned around the total scenario with his mindblowing knock of 179 runs. India won that match with a big margin. Not only that, Kapil's inning and confidence poured spirit in the mind of his teammates. And India wrote history by first time winning One day world cup.

Every player was having skill and knowledge of game. What extra did Kapil Deo have? He was having power of mind.

This is the unavoidable example of power of mind which I always give in my lecture. Your mind is the source of your behaviour. You can not predict the situation coming across. But you can certainly decide  your behaviour in that situation. Your confidence decides whether you are going to fight or surrender the game; ultimately whether you are going to win or loose the battle.
